In this article I’m showing you how to make homemade cane sugar biscuits.
My child loves the cane sugar biscuits, so I thought I should make a tutorial as well. I used a stand mixer, but you can use a regular one as well. The cane sugar biscuits don’t require many ingredients, and they are really easy to make.

- 300g white flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 170g butter at room temperature
- 100g cane sugar
- 1 whole egg
- 1 egg yolk
- 2g of salt
- Vanilla sugar
Preparing The Dough
Place 170g of butter at room temperature in the bowl together with 100g of cane sugar. Mix the composition well. Then we add 1 whole egg and 1 egg yolk, together with the vanilla sugar. Mix the composition well at a higher speed.When the composition it’s well mixed, we add 1 spoon of baking powder and 300g of white flour. I like adding the flour gradually not all at once. If you are using a regular mixer, at the point you have to add the flour, you will have to mix everything by hand from now on. When you add the last part of white four, also add 2g of salt. Then mix the dough really well. When the dough composition it’s well mixed, wrap it with a plastic wrap and keep it in the fridge for about two hours.
Baking The Biscuits
Take the dough out of the fridge, and split it in two or three parts. Then spread the dough on the table until it’s about 0.5 – 1cm in thickness. Then use some cookie shape cutters to cut the biscuits in shapes. I used Super Hero Themed, Heart Shaped, Star Shaped cookie cutters. If you don’t want to use the cookie shape cutters or you don’t have any available, just use a plastic cup or cut them with the knife. Place the biscuits on a tray with a sheet of baking paper. Then having your oven heated at 180 °C, place the tray in the oven for about 12 to 15min. Your homemade cane sugar biscuits are ready. I hope your kids will enjoy them as much as mine does.
